Azure Stain & Scale Remover is best used for metallic stain removal and prevention of hard water scaling. It sequesters the material causing stains and scale and holds them in solution. If stains persist, they may be old, requiring complete cleaning of the walls, or stains of an organic nature. Dissolved metals and minerals (such as Iron, Calcium, Manganese and Magnesium) in pool water and corrosion of metal pool fittings will often cause staining and/or scaling. Do not let pH of pool water fall below 7.0 or serious corrosion problems may result. For scale prevention it is also essential to maintain pH at 7.2 to 7.6, total alkalinity at 100 to 150 ppm and calcium hardness at 100 to 275 ppm.
